Introducing the New Online Master's in Art Education

Arts Administration, Education and Policy avatar

We are proud to announce the relaunch of the online Master's in art education - now offered completely online!

This two-year degree program is for art educators who want to change their thinking and the world through artmaking and education. With a focus on meaning-making, critical thinking and reflective practice, we are redefining what art education is and what art educators do. Each cohort takes core classes together, developing a community of support and learning as they work together and share their diverse experiences as art educators. Beginning the first summer, students take one 3-credit hour class and one 1-credit hour non-thesis hours each semester.  The second summer, students choose two 3-credit hour elective courses and/or study abroad in order to tailor their studies to their interests and take advantage of faculty expertise. We are especially excited to be able to offer study abroad to our online students. This unique opportunity embodies the spirit of our program – working with all sorts of arts educators, communities, and cultures to transform the field of art education and enact positive changes in the places we practice.

Earn the same degree as if you attended our on-campus program. Take classes with world-renowned art educators, personalized to your interests. Study online and abroad with students from all over the world. Engage with art educators working in community spaces, museums and classrooms. Transform your practice.
