Over the past 50 years, The Ohio State University has recognized hundreds of students, advisors and organizations who demonstrate leadership, collaboration and a commitment to the Ohio State community through the Ohio State Leadership Awards, sponsored by the Office of Student Life. This year, Bachelor of Arts Management student, and soon to be alumna, Clara Davison is the recipient of the Spirit of Ohio State Award! Clara is the executive director of CELLOHIO, the Ohio State Cello Studio organization. Through this organization she has fostered excitement and interest in the first classical music 'rave' in North America, an event that garnered more than 400 attendees and secured significant donations from foundations and other donors. Her dedication to community engagement, on and off campus, has resulted in partnerships with the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Metro Library, and the Wexner Center for the Arts. Clara also was selected as a part of the 2019 prestigious Buckeye Leadership Fellowship Program. She has worked in the areas of arts administration with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, the Wexner Center for the Arts, and Wintergreen Performing Arts organization. Clara also serves as the president for FAME (Future Arts Managers and Entrepreneurs) and is the Student Philanthropy Council president, an organization on campus that she helped to found. During summer 2018, Clara earned a highly-competitive position as an intern for the National Endowment for the Arts. Clara will be recognized at the 2019 Ohio State Leadership Awards on Friday, April 12 at the Ohio Union.
