The Columbus Museum of Art honors Arts Administration, Education and Policy Graduate Professor Emeritus Wayne Lawson through the creation of the Wayne P. Lawson Prize for Ohio Artists. The Prize honors Dr. Lawson and his career-long commitment to strengthening and furthering public value of the arts in Ohio and the importance of individual artists. In addition to being Graduate Professor Emeritus, Dr. Lawson is Director Emeritus of the Ohio Arts Council and an honorary board member of the Columbus Museum of Art. The first-ever recipient of the Wayne P. Lawson Prize for Ohio Artists will be awarded at a private event at the Columbus Museum of Art on June 8th.

This purchase prize for the Columbus Museum of Art will be awarded annually to an Ohio artist who represents excellence in their practice.
