Arts Education Doctoral Student to Speak at Smithsonian

Veronica Betancourt Headshot
Verónica Betancourt, AAEP doctoral student and a student in the Latina/o Studies Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization, has been invited to speak alongside preeminent researcher Dr. Cecilia Garibay on a July 2015 panel for the Latino Museum Studies Program sponsored by the Smithsonian Latino Center. Betancourt will speak on "Engaging Latina/o Arts Audiences in Denver: Lessons Learned at the Denver Art Museum and Farther Afield," as related to her recent chapter publication in Multiculturalism in Art Museums Today. She will also present a preliminary analysis from her dissertation, which addresses experiences of subjectivity among Latina/o visitors to encyclopedic art museums in the United States. Congratulations, Verónica!
