Playing dual roles: teacher by day becomes the student by night

Emily Cline

Online MA in Art Education student Emily Cline, was recently featured on Ohio State Online's website. Emily, a first-year graduate student, is currently an art teacher in Ohio's Newark City Schools system. In the feature, Emily discusses her reasoning for choosing the Online MA in Art Education: "I wanted to be in a program where I could grow. I wasn't going back to school to earn more money at my job. I wanted to be able to take the experiences from this program and mature into the teacher that I've always wanted to be." Now in her second semester, Emily has started to implement what she has learned in the program in her classroom. She has seen the growth in many of her students' art projects and has had a front seat to watching students critically think about the world around them and express those feelings through their art work.
