Kyuri Choi is a PhD student in the Arts Administration, Education and Policy program. Her research examines elementary art education in practice, particularly the gap between curricular aims and the decorative, craft-oriented activities that often dominate school art. She taught for eight years in Korean public elementary schools as both a homeroom and subject-specific teacher.
Choi co-authored a nationally authorized elementary art textbook for Korea's 2022 Revised National Curriculum and has worked on curriculum and policy projects with Korea's Ministry of Education. From 2024 to 2026 she was a Teacher Fellow with the Ministry of Education, which supported her full-time graduate study.
Fun fact: Kyuri's goal at Ohio State is to accumulate one fun fact per year. This is year one.
