The graduate interdisciplinary specialization in fine arts (GISFA) makes it possible for students to pursue a broad-based arts education or a close focus in a second arts field, beyond their major program of study.
A programmatic approach to interdisciplinarity among artists pursuing their graduate degrees at the Ohio State University, the GISFA program offers students a well-rounded, flexible and pedagogically founded curriculum.
The specialization provides students essentially a “graduate minor” in art-making across all arts disciplines concurrently with the M.F.A. or an equivalent degree in fields like the M.M. or D.M.A. in the student’s own discipline.
