Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Art Education

The Art Education programs in AAEP include a Bachelor’s in Art Education degree with and without licensure, an MA both online and in person, and a PhD specialization. Art Education at The Ohio State University represents a diverse community of critical inquiry. Viewing art making and pedagogy as a dynamic process that actively engages intellectual development of both teachers and students, art education examines social concerns through the arts in environments which are experimental, participatory, collaborative and cross disciplinary, with the ultimate goal of engaging communities and promoting positive social change. Graduates of the Art Education programs become art teachers in schools, museums, and community spaces; lead arts organizations; work for government and non-profit institutions; and become faculty scholars at universities.
