Arts Honors

Arts Honors is a specialized Honors program available to students pursuing a degree in the arts. Honors students have University Priority scheduling and graduate 'with Honors in the Arts.'

Undergraduate Thesis

Students in the arts have two options if completing an undergraduate thesis:

  1. Research Distinction: Students complete a research paper or project and defend the final thesis before a committee comprised of two OSU faculty members. A 3.0 GPA is required upon graduation. Students in AAEP will earn ‘with Research Distinction in Art Education’ or ‘with Research Distinction in Arts Management.’ Research outside of a student’s major field results in ‘with Research Distinction.’
  2. Arts Distinction: Students complete a visual or performance-based project and defend the final thesis before a committee comprised of three OSU faculty members. A 3.3 GPA is required upon graduation. Students in AAEP will earn ‘with Distinction in Art Education’ or ‘with Distinction in Arts Management.’
