The arts and education have long been a part of Dennis Cannon’s life. His career background includes visual arts teacher and coordinator of gifted and arts programs. He also served as the Executive Director for the “Transforming Education Through the Art Challenge” (TETAC), a national educational reform initiative. He currently serves as Director of Student Teaching and Field Experiences for the Department of Arts Administration, Education and Policy at The Ohio State University.  He has experience with program design for gifted students and special needs students in the visual and performing arts, as well as visual arts curriculum design, and professional development design and implementation on the local, state, and national level. Dennis has served as president of the Ohio Art Education Association and currently serves at president of the Ohio Art Education Foundation. He is also active in the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education. He has also been honored as the 2010 Ohio Art Educator of the Year. His art mediums include watercolor, drawing and glass.
