Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Education

  • 2024, BFA, Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH
Lauren is pursuing her MA in Arts Policy and Administration. She earned her bachelor's degree in Illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design, where she not only developed her visual arts abilities but also achieved a minor in Creative Writing and won the college's annual Creative Writing Awards. Her work has been featured in several literary publications, including Botticelli and Young Raven's Literary Review. In addition to her academics, Lauren also was a ballet instructor for five years, where among her proudest accomplishments were creating the boys' ballet program at the studio as well as directing the studio's first production of The Nutcracker.

Lauren's passion lies in arts equity and access. Her work is driven by the belief that the arts are an essential part of our humanity, and that expanding arts access to reach beyond socioeconomic classes and elitist barriers is a key step towards a more equitable future.

Fun Fact: Despite her fervent anti-elitist views, Lauren's favorite art period is the French Rococo art, fashion, and architecture style. The French people may have been starving, but gold leaf and ruffles on everything sure were beautiful!
