Jasmine is a PhD Candidate, specializing in Art Education. She graduated from Miami University where she studied Art Education, Art Therapy and minored in Ceramics. She has always considered herself an artist for as long as she could remember and realized she has liked teaching art since her high school days. She was in the AAEP MA program where her research utilized art-based methods to present Black perspectives in preservice art education. Now, her work has since evolved to examine the experiences of Blackwomen in preservice art education from an intersectional perspective with a particular focus on identity, belonging, and the ways Blackwomen cultivate knowledge, care, and community amongst one another. 

Fun fact: During her MA journey, she learned to crochet and spends most of her days as a form of self-care. She loves making hats, cardigans, and bags.
