Beth Link (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Arts Administration, Education and Policy at The Ohio State University. She has teaching experience in schools, community arts, and art museums and has facilitated arts-integrated professional development for K-12 teachers across the globe. Beth’s research applies theory to practice and aims to address questions arising from art educators’ identity and experiences in the field. In Texas, she founded the Art Teacher Inquiry Collective (ATIC) to support critical art teachers in their first two years teaching and is interested in how students conceptualize their identity as teachers when they enter school cultures. She is especially interested in applying critical theories on race and whiteness to curriculum and enactment to understand how teachers use the arts to critique power and bridge differences. Beth is writing a forthcoming book entitled Beyond good intentions: A curricular toolkit for shifting perspectives and making connections through Art. Her work has been published in books and journals such as Art Education, Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education, Qualitative Inquiry, Studies in Art Education, and the Journal of Curriculum and Pedagogy among others. As a collaborative and interdisciplinary researcher, she works across art forms and recently published a co-authored volume with colleagues at UT Austin entitled Drama for Schools and Beyond: Transformative professional learning through the arts. Beth received a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in Cultural Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also earned an M.A. in Art Education.
